BML is registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), which provides oversight of accounting firms providing audit services to publicly traded companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Our firm is a member of the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC). Our staff is in compliance with Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) continuing education requirements. The firm is heavily involved in providing professional assurance and consulting services to a wide variety of governmental entities; our reports and work papers are always subject to review by both the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and AICPA Peer Review for onsite field reviews. We have been successful in the past at receiving non-adverse desk and field reviews by stressing quality reviews and open and proactive communications with regulatory agents/agencies.
Our firm believes that current regulatory and compliance requirements defy the traditional “once-a-year” visits from external auditors. To that end, our firm prides itself on making our partners and managers available to our clients for consultation throughout the year.
In addition, our auditors are trained in forensic accounting and both assurance partners are licensed Certified Fraud Examiners with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
